Thanks to our sponsors ACC Business, Hypercube, TelePacific Communications, and Virgo Publishing, Women in the Channel will be hosting an exciting networking event during Channel Partners Conference and Expo - Las Vegas, and all women who are attending the conference are invited. The event will be held on February 26, 2013 from 5 - 8 pm in the Marco Polo room 706-707 at the Venetian. There is no formal RSVP required. If you're a woman attending Channel Partners Conference and Expo, here are 5 reasons why you should not miss this event:
1. Be inspired and edified by our featured speaker, Karen Hinds.
We are proud to announce that our keynote speaker this year will be Karen Hinds, Founder and CEO of Workplace Success Group. Workplace Success Group is an employee development firm that helps to increase the effectiveness of emerging talent. She is also the creator of The Power of Distinction™, a proprietary employee development system. Her company provides solutions to employers who want to develop confident, professional teams that produce more, solve problems, and get along with each other.
Recently appearing on Good Morning America, Karen is the author of five books and writes a weekly business column for an international newspaper. Karen appears as a guest on radio and television programs. She has been quoted in Black Enterprise Magazine, Family Circle Magazine, featured in the Boston Globe and was the Keynote Speaker for the Hartford Business Journal’s Best Places to Work in Connecticut ceremony. Karen was nominated for the Woman Entrepreneur of the Year by the Connecticut Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners and won the Micro to Millions business award in 2008.
2. Discover the benefits of joining Women in the Channel & how to join
Listen to Women in the Channel President Nancy Ridge discuss the massive success and growth we've experienced in just two years as well as what what Women in the Channel can do for you. While you may have read about the benefits on the website, at the WiC Networking event, you'll hear real-life stories on how we're moving and shaking this industry together. Nancy will cover opportunities you have to both professionally and personally grow with WiC, as well as how easy it is to get started and get involved.
3. Network and discover more about the state of women in our industry
As is a tradition, we will be performing an anonymous, live poll at the event. The poll is a great way to ask questions regarding common goals, hurdles, and triumphs women have in our industry— and view LIVE results of the sampled answers.
In addition, we'll be participating in round table discussions with key questions, MC'd by Bita Milanian, VP of Marketing for Women in the Channel, and moderated by Women in the Channel Board members. At your round table, you are bound to learn something new from peers and meet other women who may become new business contacts and friends.
4. Learn about Women in the Channel website and tools available
Check out the WiC website on the big screen as you're guided on a tour by Nancy and Nicole Hayward, Board Member / Committee Chair - Technology. They'll review where you can read the latest news, find out the state of our finances, go about joining a committee, and become a blogger if you're interested!
5. It's Free!
You or your business have invested the money to get you to Las Vegas for the Channel Partners Conference and Expo; why not capitalize on the opportunity to its fullest? This event is chalk full of opportunities, fun, food, drinks, and a raffle supported by our sponsors— all for free. We hope to see you there!
